Description
Blaeu's classic map of the world was first printed in 1606 and remained in circulation for over 50 years. Includes insets of the north and south poles. Surrounding the map are depictions of: the heavenly bodies (Luna, Mercurius, Venus, Sol, Mars, Jupiter, Saturnus), the four elements (Ignis, Aer, Aqua, Terra), the four seasons (Ver, Aestas, Autumnus, Hyems), and the seven wonders of the world (Murus Babyloniae, Colossus, Pyramides, Mausoleum, Dianae Templum, Jupiter Olympicus, Pharos).
